I would just like to bring it to your attention that it was 80 degrees when I woke up this morning.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. It is Texas, after all. 80 degrees in December is not entirely unheard of. But do you know what the temperature was when I went to bed last night?
40.
As in 4-0.
It was happy and cold and wonderful. And then I got up, and the windows were all foggy, and it was rainy, and I thought, oh hey, a humid, cold, rainy day.
Well, I got two out of three.
Seriously, though. Make a decision. For at least two days in a row, please let the weather be constant. And preferably cold. Because I do not want to celebrate Christmas in a tank top.

“Hi, can I help you?”
“Yeah, I’m here to pick up a prescription that my doctor phoned in earlier.”
“Oh, yeah, that was brand-specific, and we don’t carry it.”
Pause.
Blink, blink.
“Um, do you want me to call around and see if one of our other stores carries it?”
No, my doctor specifically called this in because I need it, but really, don’t bother. And don’t bother to tell me this earlier, before I got here, even though you have my phone number on file. “Yeah, that’d be great.”
15 minutes later: “OK, so our Pflugerville store carries it, and they think they have enough pills, but they at least have enough for tonight.”
“Um, how many pills are needed to fill my prescription?”
“14. But they were too busy to count them right now. They at least have 1 or 2. Oh, and it will be an hour or so until they can fill it.”
Wow. Fortunately they had enough, so it was only one trip out there.
ETA: Is it any wonder that I got my first migraine in almost a year last night?
