I came up with a great idea for a bulky costume, and since it will never be worn at Dragon*Con due to transportation issues, I went ahead and made it for Halloween:

Here are a couple of pictures from Caroline’s party on Saturday (I didn’t get too many, as Legoman is bulky):
Our lovely hostesses:
No wonder the pizza guy was intimidated:

Boot camp is over! It was wonderful, and despite the early mornings, I’m going to miss it.
And it turns out it ended right on time. For what, you ask? I’ll let you know after November 11. But let’s just say I’m glad I’m in shape…

We went to a pumpkin carving party, and were persuaded to try one of the neat patterns. While they looked impossible and took quite awhile, the results were fantastic. Jack even won the competition.
It looks even better when lit:

He finally did it. Parcells finally put Tony Romo into the lineup.
And you know what? He played like a rookie. A talented player, but a rookie nonetheless. He rushed his decision-making. He threw three interceptions, balls that never should have left his hands. And he threw two touchdown passes and converted a 2 point conversion.
And you know what? I’m fine with that.
What I wasn’t fine with was Drew Bledsoe, a 14-year veteran, playing like a rookie.
I know there will be growing pains. There always are. Troy Aikman went 1-15 in his first season. But I like the potential.

And yes, Diane, I looked it up after you sent me the article. For those who didn’t see her comment:

We went to a wedding this past weekend. It was the first we’d been to since ours, and it was so nice to be able to just enjoy ourselves without being concerned about whether all the vendors showed up and the food came out right and the evening was flowing as scheduled. Well, actually, our vendors were so awesome that we really didn’t have any concerns once we got the daya started, but the time leading up to the day was quite stressful. We advised the poor mother of the bride to sit down and eat at least twice, as she was a little flustered and looked like she’d been that way for most of the day.
